Something that I am totally not ready for

happened yesterday!

I was doing my normal Sunday afternoon good deal round-up (Super Target, Walgreens, CVS) and Mr. Sasha was reading the paper while The Politician watched some TV after his nap and The Wild Child finished her nap in her crib.

Mr. Sasha heard WC awake over the monitor, and P jumped up and said "I'll go in there!". Mr. Sasha was just about to stand up to go let her out of her crib, and all of the sudden P and WC came walking down the hall together!

She climbed out of her crib!!!! She's only 2 years and 3.5 months old! P happily stayed in his crib until 3 and I was hoping to do the same with her because I'm just not ready for her to be on the loose unattended.

Both of their cribs are the fab kind that convert to a toddler bed (with a little rail so they don't roll out) and then to a full-sized bed, so we can totally go the toddler bed route if it's time, but I just like her being captive right now. Does that make me a bad mommy? I'm just not sure I'll be able to convince her to stay in bed and go to sleep.......

Sigh.... I think I'll wait and see if she does it again. Maybe it was just a fluke?

Don't move her yet! My nephew climbed out once and SIL moved him to a big boy bed. MISTAKE! He's been sleeping with them ever since. I'd wait to see if it becomes a regular occurance. And you're not a bad mom for wanting her contained!

I like when they're captive too...I hope you can keep her contained for a little while longer...

Sounds like you're ready for the crib tent. It works like a CHAMP - you will not be sorry! Call me if you want to come get it ;)

Slim- oh yeah! The tent! I'm going to give her one more shot and then she'll be imprisioned by the tent! Thanks!

You are LUCKY...H is only 19 months old and figured out the climbing out thing a few months ago...thank goodness he doesn't do it often! Good luck!

If the tent doesn't work get those door knob covers and she'll at least be trapped in her room till you let her out! We tried the toddler bed with Wyatt and he screamed for 2 hours at the door - he wasn't ready at all. He loves him some crib!

Now you're in REAL trouble!

You have to get a tent! We got one for the oldest and it is pure genius! We used it for out middle child too but so far (knock on wood) #3 hasn't yet decided to climb out of his crib and he is 2 1/2. We got ours at Babies R Us. I think they run somewhere between $40-$50.

You NEED the crib tent -- it's perhaps the best $70ish I spent when my boys were that age. They loved it, I loved it, and (most importantly!) I got uninterrupted sleep. I would put it on a twin bed if I could figure out how. Run, don't walk, to buy or borrow one!
