Lucas Taggart is the best con man in the business, so to speak.

A former-geek-turned-hottie, Luke is now an image consultant and life coach to the rich and privileged in New York City. His eight-week program is designed to transform ugly ducklings into swans by instilling some much-needed confidence, and hey, a makeover never hurts.
But when Ainsley Carrington signs up as a client, Luke's world is thrown into a tailspin. Ainsley doesn't need an image consultant; her image is already perfect just the way it is. Luke immediately finds himself grappling with his attraction to the introverted beauty as all his old insecurities come bubbling back to the surface.

The thing is, Luke doesn't date his clients. Ever. But fighting his desire for Ainsley is proving more difficult than he ever imagined. Especially since the cocky and arrogant "confidence man" has just completely lost his cool.

***CON MAN is a romantic comedy novel intended for ages 18+ due to some offensive language and graphic sex/sexual situations.***

READ WHEN YOU'RE IN THE MOOD FOR: cocky, funny, sexy, insightful, relatable.

EXCERPT
“You must be the famous Libitz,” he’d opened, taking his assigned seat beside her, and flashing his sexiest grin.

After all, if she was his chosen conquest for the weekend, there was no time like the present to work his wiles. Wearing a simple black sheath dress with aqua circles, 70s-style mod make-up and oversized silver and crystal chandelier earrings that almost brushed her thin shoulders, she’d turned to him and blinked those wide, all-seeing eyes.

“And you…must be kidding.”

Taken aback, he’d stared at her for a second before chuckling. “Wha—I mean, how’s that?”

“Let’s start over,” she said, cocking her head to the side. “Here’s your line, Romeo: “Hi, I’m Étienne’s brother, Jean-Christian. It’s nice to meet you.” Want to give it a try?”

He cleared his throat, his smile fading. “Hi, I’m Étienne’s brother, Jean-Christian. It’s nice to meet you.”

She locked eyes with his, her lips neutral, neither tilted up nor down. “Hi. I’m Libitz Feingold, Kate’s best friend…and it’s not cold enough.”

“What?” asked J.C., feeling completely turned around.

"It’s not cold enough in hell for me to fall for someone like you,” she said, then shifted back around to talk to the person on her other side.

Well, f*** me, thought J.C., taking another gulp of beer as he tried to figure out if he was insulted or impressed. After a moment, he nudged her in the side with his elbow and she looked at him over her shoulder, her expression annoyed.

“Yes?”

“I hear the temperature’s dropping there,” he said casually, then added, “because they’re expecting a visit from you.”

"Ha!” she chortled, a genuine grin brightening her eyes for a moment before she quickly reigned it back in to practiced ennui. “Is that right?”

He shrugged, tipping his bottle of beer back as he held her eyes, challenging her to come back at him with something clever. “So I heard.”

“From all the friends you’ve got there?”

He almost spit his beer out. Damn, but she was quick.

"Truce?’ he asked, placing his beer on the table and holding out his hand.

She stared at his hand for a moment, then looked away, leaning forward to pick up her champagne glass and bringing it slowly to her lips. “No, thanks. Mama didn’t raise no fool.”

“You’re unreal.” She shook her head, that bored look still in place.

"Nope. I’m real. I’m just not a good target for charming scamps looking for trouble.”

"A target? Shit. Who got to you?” he asked, feeling a little abused by her insta-judgement of him without actually getting a chance to know him in person. Not that she was wrong exactly. But getting into trouble with the right person could be a hell of a lot of fun.

“The list is long and distinguished,” she shot back.

His eyes widened and his lips wobbled.

“Oh, God,” she said, shaking her head as her cheeks bloomed an appealing pink under her make-up. “I walked right into that one didn’t I?”

“Yes, you did,” said J.C. with what he hoped was a disarming grin. “All together, now…”

“So’s my Johnson,” they said at the same time, quoting the rebuttal line from Top Gun.

“Hey, look at that,” he said, still smiling at her. “You do know how to have fun. I was beginning to worry.”

Her smile instantly faded. “You’re not as cute as you think you are.”

"Yeah,” he said, nodding as he finished the last of his beer. “I am.”

My review: 4 Stars!
This was my first book by Bayley-Burke, and I enjoyed this full-length, easy read. Sophie is a feisty, strong-willed heroine, and David is a charming, but somewhat damaged hero, and together, set against the backdrop of a very sexy yoga class, opposites definitely attract. I enjoyed their witty banter so much! These two were great together!

My review: 5 Out of the Park Stars!
I loved the first book in the series, Anything but Minor, and I was so excited to read the second book. And guys, I LOVED IT EVEN MORE! I don't know how that is possible, but April and Andy's story is magical and such an enjoyable read! These two are so great together and Stewart's writing is hilarious. I even learned a new meaning for SWAG! Both characters are so well developed and their backstories are an important part of the story.

Both April and Andy were hesitant to jump into a serious relationship after their pasts, but it was hard to deny the chemistry between them. I enjoyed the somewhat slow burn into a night of passion, and the subsequent time they spent figuring things out. Stewart wrote a more emotional book here, and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and didn't mind the tears I found myself shedding. Love love love this book! It can be read as a standalone, but is also a great partner to book 1.

My review: 4 Stars!
This was my second Katy Regnery book, and I still feel I was missing a bit since I haven't read all the Blueberry Lane books (13+?!), although this can definitely be read as a standalone. I still plan to go back and read from the beginning, because I love her writing! J.C. and Libitz were so fun to read about- enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. I loved taking the journey to watch how feelings changed as they got to know each other better. A good mystery is always fun too- so I LOVED reading the mystery of The Bijoux Jolis! Both J.C. and Libitz were so witty, and they were just perfectly matched! This was a joy to read.

My review: 5 Lottery-Winning Stars!
Last night I posted this on Instagram:

Just finished More than Money by Allison Michaels while Will had soccer and it was so perfect! The banter between the main characters reminded me of Heart Shaped Hack!

Guys, I LOVED this book so much! Ryan and Collette were fantastically well-written main characters! I just can't say enough about this book, and I was so excited to see that this is the start of a series. Might we get a book on Collette's brothers Neil and Les? I place my vote for Neil to be the next focus.

Release Day Review: Unraveled by A.S. Teague

Title: Unraveled
Series: Undisputed #2
(Standalone)
Author: A.S. Teague
Genre: Contemporary Sports Romance
Release Date: November 17, 2016

Blurb

I had it all––until I didn’t.

When my job, my livelihood, and my passion are suddenly snatched away from me, I’m left scrambling to keep my head above water. Desperate, I’m forced to walk into the last place I ever thought I’d go. Little did I know that I’d come face-to-face with the woman who would help me pick up the pieces of my unraveled life.

Rebecca Toler’s living the dream––or so I thought.

Beautiful, funny, and tough as nails, she answers to no one. In other words, she was born to be mine.
One problem—she hates me.

It’s time to take my life back, and I’m starting with her.
But, as I’ve learned over the years, sometimes the toughest fight of your life is outside the cage.

*Each book in the Undisputed series can be read as a complete standalone novel

My review: 5 Amazing Stars!
I had high hopes for Unraveled after giving A.S. Teague's debut novel, Undisputed, 5 stars. And I am so glad to say I was not disappointed! Teague again crafted an amazing, heartfelt novel that I adored.

This book falls into the enemies-to-lovers category, as Rebecca is sure she cannot stand Ryker due to past events in his life. Slowly, he enters into her life determined to change her opinion and it was fun to watch his wear her down bit by bit. Although Ryker could land on your book boyfriend list for many reasons, it was his devotion to his grandmother than won me over. Such a sweet relationship- I loved when she called him by his given name. So cute.

This is also a story of Ryker reclaiming his reputation and career, and I loved every minute of it. I enjoyed getting a glimpse into the life of the characters from Undisputed as well. I am so looking forward to Teague's next novel- I hope it's a continuation of this series!

Excerpt

For the next three hours I’m swamped answering calls—thankfully no more real estate agents—and helping anyone that comes in while trying to finalize the boys’ events for the next month. When that damn bell chimes for the hundredth time today, I plaster a forced smile on my face and glance up. When my eyes finally focus on the man walking through the door, the smile vanishes and my jaw falls open.

What the actual f***?

His head is high as he looks around, studying the room. After giving the gym a quick onceover, his gaze finally lands on where I’m seated behind the desk. Our eyes meet and my heart hammers, the pounding so loud I fear he can hear it from across the room. I tear my gaze away from his and scan his body, surprised at the physical reaction I’m having to him.

With a slight shake of my head, I slap my palms on the paper-covered wood, and shove out of my chair, causing it to shoot out at least ten feet behind me. “You have some nerve walking in here.”

He stops in his tracks and blinks at me before an easy smile crosses his face. “Rebecca Toler. Shoulda known I’d see you here.” He drawls as he continues walking toward me.

My pulse is pounding in my ears and my stomach is practicing its floor routine for the Olympics as I stare at the man in front of me. Taking a minute to appreciate his strong jaw line that’s covered in scruff, I notice that his hair is in desperate need of a trim as it falls across one eye.

F***, he’s sexy.

He always had been. Regardless how much it pains me to admit it. Though his looks weren’t why I wanted to full body hurl him from the building. Memories of our last interaction flood my mind, along with the hurt and anger I’d felt.

“How ya been, Reb?” he asks with a familiarity he doesn’t have.

His use of my nickname, a familiarity he doesn’t have––or deserve––causes me to snap childishly, “Who said you could call me that?”

He grins, but doesn’t reply.

F***, that grin is hot.

“What are you doing in Atlanta, Ryker?” I ask, attitude still thick in my voice.

He takes his time looking me over and my body betrays me by flushing at the attention. His eyes are appreciative of what they see, but strangely enough, it doesn’t feel like he’s ogling me.

He steps forward and shoves his hands in the pockets of his washed out jeans that hang low on his hips. “Well, I was in town and thought I’d stop in and say hello to my buddy Breccan. Seeing you is an unexpected bonus.” His lips tip up in a smile and my stomach flips again.

“Your buddy?” I hiss through clenched teeth while attempting not to let my gaze linger on his pants any longer. The thought of Ryker and Breccan ever being buddies would have been funny, if I wasn’t too shocked to laugh.

His gaze finally makes it back to mine and he nods once.

For a few moments we simply stare at each other, him smiling while I scowl.
