Vocab Lesson: Kidimated Trip Time

If you are planning a road trip with your kiddos, be sure and convert Mapquest's Estimated Trip Time into Sasha's Kidimated Trip Time. By experience, I have found the multiplier to be 1.43.

For example, if Mapquest tells you the ETT is 7 hrs for your trip to Sea World:

7.0 hours ETT X 1.43 multiplier = 10.0 hours KTT

Oh girl this is SOOO freaking true.

But what I really need to know is how my dd can fall asleep in the less than five minutes it takes to drive to the grocery store but when we are in the car for 9+ hrs to and from the beach she will REFUSE to sleep for more than 30 min no matter what time we leave! WTF.

I am really considering drugs for next year, got anything you can recommend? they will be 6 and 3:)

Wow, when we traveled to Kansas over 4th of July, that is approximately the multiplier that ended up being true for us too! How funny!

I think you've just discovered some lost long statistical genius! Our mutliplier falls right in that range too. Now if I could only program my GPS to work off that time ... it gets my hopes up every time!

Wally World, Dad? Yes. Wally World Dad.

One time, my mom and I took Chandler to the kids museum in Seminole. Shoulda been a 30 minute car ride. No. It took us an hour to get there. She was a little lil momma at the time, and she has always been a bad car rider. She kept dropping her horses and we kept having to pull over on the side of the road and get out and fetch them. It was painful.

I will consult you next time I need kidimated trip time.

Yea, Mapquest doesn't put in food breaks, potty breaks, gasoline trips, etc.
