Aca-awesome!
On Saturday I went with my mom and aunt to see Pitch Perfect, and it was aca-awesome! We all LOVED it and I rushed home and downloaded the soundtrack.
If I had one magic wish, it would be for a singing voice. So sad that that's not my super-power.
There's some language, sexual references, and two gross-out humor scenes that warrant the PG-13 rating, but I wasn't too embarrassed and I was sitting by my mom!
Rebel Wilson is a comedic genius and I have to think that some of her lines were ad libbed.
Oh, and Elizabeth Banks..... she is divine as well as an a capella competition commentator. "Nothing makes a woman feel more like a girl than a man who sings like a boy."
So if you haven't seen it.... I totally think you should- it's aca-awesome!
Disclosure: Nothing to disclose, except that my mama paid for my ticket!

Music
It IS going to be okay. I know it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But someday it is all going to be all right. For today, we remember to breathe, we treat ourselves the way we want to be treated by others, we drink large glasses of water and we get outside for fresh air every two hours. These things will help until everything is okay.
What else helps? Share your secrets. --from Glennon's 4-18-12 post
For me? It's music. Oh how it can change my mood! And maybe this is not an appropriate choice for an answer to a question asked by a recovered alcoholic, but today I'm listening to Cheers (Drink to That) from a recent epi of Smash. and Call Me Maybe.
See, when *I* listen to it, it's not about the alcohol or getting drunk or looking for a honey (mwah), it's about remembering to celebrate, to let go a bit, and that spending time with friends can re-set your meter.
Because when you are down in the dumps, making social plans to be with friends can seem so overwhelming and selfish and something you just can't, but the results are there. You just have to take that step, realize the value, and get out there. No more wallowing in self-pity.
So what helps you?

I am so excited! I just download several songs from Glee and I can't wait to get them on my ipod and get out and run run run! I am feeling so much better this week and have actually gotten on the treadmill twice. It's been over two months since I've exercised and I packed on about 10 pounds and I can't wait to get back in the swing of things. These songs ought to do it!- Don't Stop Believin'
- Gold Digger
- Mercy
- Rehab
What other ones should I get? These songs make so me happy! I pink puffy heart Glee and you cannot be my friend unless you are watching......

My New Favorite Song
I recently found my new theme song (Jason Mraz- I'm Yours), and it's all summery and makes me want a beer or three. That works out great since this is The Summer of Beer.
For some reason I can't explain, I've developed a little crush on Jason Mraz. Yum.
Let me know what you think. Am I nutty?
Edited to add: I figured it out! It's that cute little sideways grin he has when he is singing..... Boy, I'm certainly a pathetic 34 year old working soccer mom of two, huh?
