Revelation

I am old and I will never be Chic Runner. But I can pretend, can't I? She's precious and my running idol.

I just ran 11 miles in 1:54:00 and damn, I'm 35. And 3 months.

At the start of mile 11, my knee was starting to give out, my hammies were super-mad at me, and when I got home my pinkie toes felt dead- like they might need to be cut off.

But I did it!

I think all those years of pop-splits and high kicks did me in. Yeah, that's it. That's the problem. It has absolutely nothing to do with being a 35 year old beer-drinking worn-out mom of two crazy kids.

I am off to the beer fridge for a Wild Blue. Hopefully I can walk tomorrow.

Woo-hoo!!!

We all can't be Danica.

Actually the 30-39 age group is the most competitive in all the races I do.

I am envious. I don't do sh*# for exercise, but sometimes I do break into a highkick routine complete with popspits in the kitchen. I really feel it the next day...

Woohooo!

11 miles?? I would have died. I lift pretty damn hard and am proud of my muscles, but as for running, I suck.

Mile, mile and a half is about it for me. Maybe some sprints if I'm feeling lucky.

11 miles?? Yep, would have laid down and died around mile 2.5 or so :)
