I read A Thousand Boy Kisses when it was released back in 2016, and it was so heartbreaking beautiful that I've re-read it and recommended it many times. I dove into A Thousand Broken Pieces and it was just extraordinary- it was so well written! You can really feel all the emotions the characters go through. You'll need tissues for the journey to the HEA, but it is so worth it!

Meet Tillie

Tillie Cole hails from a small town in the North-East of England. She grew up on a farm with her English mother, Scottish father and older sister and a multitude of rescue animals. As soon as she could, Tillie left her rural roots for the bright lights of the big city.

After graduating from Newcastle University with a BA Hons in Religious Studies, Tillie followed her Professional Rugby player husband around the world for a decade, becoming a teacher in between and thoroughly enjoyed teaching High School students Social Studies before putting pen to paper, and finishing her first novel.

I was glad to be back at Eastbrooke to see what came next as Arrington got settled in for her first year of school there. Lots of boy and friend drama, fashion and high-dollar fun fill the pages and left me wanting more for sure. I actually love how author Jillian Dodd leaves us with a little cliffhanger at the end of each installment- it really builds the excitement for the next installment for me.

Although my teenage age years were quite a while ago, I so enjoy this crew and their antics! Mallory's parents arriving in London adds quite a bit of activity for our group (I was not at all surprised that Mohammad and Mallory's mom hit it off shopping!) and of course we still get the teenage angst that makes this series so addictive. I was glad to see Olivia featured a bit more and becoming more likable in this installment. After the ending, I am excited for Book 8 and can't wait for the release!

When a Penelope Ward book arrives on my Kindle, it's a DEAR (Drop Everything and Read from my elementary days) moment. I love her unique storylines, complex and relatable characters, undeniable chemistry, and believable dialog. Reading Troy and Aspyn's story in The Assignment was all that and more! My favorite side characters were Aspyn's young niece Kiki and Troy's grandfather Nonno. They were both such a big party of the story and so well-written.

WOW! I listened to the audiobook for You Loved Me Once and I cannot gush enough about how fantastic it was. Julia Whelan did an amazing job with her narration. The book is more than romance, although the heroine is involved with someone. The focus is more on her career and challenging situation that come up when her personal and professional life collide. I am definitely going to go back and re-listen soon- it was just that good.

Since I'm a 90s grad, I was excited to read Kandi Steiner's newest emotional romance set in an art program in Italy in the 90s. Both our hero and heroine had challenges in their lives- Liam's was an event in his past and Harley's challenge was related to a condition she was born with. Exploring Italy through Harley's eyes was delightful (I'd love to go there myself!) and I so enjoyed her relationship with her roommate Angela. Although the romance had a touch of angst, there were also light comical moments that brought a smile to my face. What a great summer read!

The gorgeous cover and enticing blurb drew me in- but Amie Knight's talent for emotionally-charged romance kept me up way past my bedtime, turning page after page. I found both Adam and Liv to be well-developed characters, and their dialog was so real and believable. Although their relationship started a bit slow, when the first kiss happened, I swooned.... and kept swooning! The ending on this book absolutely leaves you wanting more, but I expect that with a duet announcement and know that the wait for the conclusion will be well worth it. Beneath His Stars will absolutely be on my Best of 2018 list! In Her Space: 5 stars! What an epic finale to the duet! I waited on pins and needles to read In Her Space and was not disappointed. Liv and Adam had drawn me in in the first book and it was so neat to see them 10 years later. I was pulling for them to get their well-deserved happy ending and Amie Knight did such a fantastic job taking us on their journey. This duet will be on my Best of 2018 list for sure. Excerpt from Beneath His Stars   “Are you smoking?” Her lip curled in disgust.             I nodded.             It was her turn to look disgusted this time. “Do you even speak?”             I nodded again and she shook her head in disbelief before reaching over the space between us and snatching the cigarette out of my mouth so fast I didn’t see it coming. I stood there dumbfounded. People didn’t snatch s$%& away from me. People were scared of me. Not this brave girl. I should have known.             “Smoking is disgusting.” She said it quietly like it didn’t matter, but I could tell it did to her. She bent over and put the butt out on the driveway before standing up again and shoving it in her pocket. Audiobook Review: Make Me Hate You by Kandi Steiner

 This weekend I finished the audiobook for Make Me Hate You by Kandi Steiner and it was SO GOOD!

5 stars!

So much angst! Make Me Hate You was so intense- there was so much passion and emotion.

 "It's you who brings me pain. It's you who is killing me. It's you, and us," I added, motioning between us. "It's this thing that never was, but always is, that never will be and will never not be." 

Like that quote right there- emotional perfection. I felt Tyler and Jasmine's pain. The story is told only from Jasmine's POV, but it's easy to feel Tyler's anguish and heartache too. Make Me Hate You was real and raw and a story I just couldn't put down. 

Narrator Holly Warren was new to me, but she did an excellent job. I will definitely be checking out her other performances.
