LOTD #2 and other stuff

Today I am wearing one of my favorite long-wearing lipcolors by YSL. Granted, it's a bit pricey at $34, but the purchase was totally worth it when I bought it last year.

Note I said "last year". Because now L'Oreal has come out with a drugstore version and I'm a convert. But more on that later in the week.

Back to the YSL product.......

What it is:
A revolutionary new lip product that combines the texture and shine of a gloss with the long wear of a stain.

What it does:
Coat your lips with this lip color that offers a lightweight texture, which immediately melts onto lips. Glossy Stain delivers intense glossy color for an extremely long-lasting shine.

This feels fabulous and moisturizing and lasts for a long time- I don't have to touch up until after lunch. Sometimes a splurge is worth it, and I am glad I splurged on this. I am definitely keeping this in the stash!

I wanted to show you where my little dog Bella lays while I am getting ready in the morning- there's a big bathmat right behind me, and every day she spends a few minutes pulling it up and getting it situated to make herself a little pillow and then takes a little nap while I put on my make up and dry my hair. It's just the cutest thing ever and I had to snap a pic.

I have dragged the kids to Walmart a few times in the last few days waiting (im)patiently for this new Hard Candy nail polish display to be stocked. I'm most excited for the Candy Sprinkles row of shades at the bottom.... these are dupes (and more) of the Nails Inc Special Effect Sprinkles line sold at Sephora.  Kelly at Vampy Varnish has some gorgeous swatches of the Hard Candy line and I now have quite a few I'd like to get. The Hard Candy polish is priced at around $4, while the Nails Inc. shades are $9.50. Let me know if you've seen them in your area!

Review: Eukanuba

Last month BzzAgent invited me to join their Eukanuba with 3D DentaDefense™ dog food campaign, and I was so excited because we were just about out of the bag of Beneful food that Bella has been eating on for quite some time and was just about to head to the store to buy a new bag of food anyway.

BzzAgent acutally provided me with a coupon for a free 20 pound bag so the kids and I headed to Petco to use it. We chose the Adult Small Breed Petite Race since Miss Bella is a 10 pound Shih Tzu (or something like that- we really don't know).

I have to admit that I have done much in the way of dental care for Bella. We do take her to the vet for her yearly check-ups and shots, but other than that, I haven't done anything specific for her teeth. (hides) I feel really bad about that now because when I read the info BzzAgent sent to me, I found out that tartar build-up is the most common health problem among dogs, with 8 out of 10 pups developing serious dental health issues by the age of three.

Did you know your dog may have dental health issues you can't see? In fact, 85% of dogs have serious tartar build up by the age of three. Plaque and tartar are often invisible to the naked eye, but with Eukanuba's help, you don't have to play pet detective to have a healthy, happyand smiling pooch.
Recommended by vets, Eukanuba with 3D DentaDefense™ keeps your dog in top condition from tooth to tail. Ensure your canine's canines are healthy — feed your pup the only leading brand that provides complete nutrition and superior tartar protection in every adult and senior diet.

So I was very excited to see the dental benefits included with this food.

And Bella was very interested too.

So I poured her a bowl, mixing it together with her current food as they suggested we do to help her transition to the new food.

And she must have liked it, much more than the Beneful, because she ate every last morsel of the Eukanuba and left the Beneful behind!

I am very impressed and so glad BzzAgent introducted me to this dog food- and judging by how quickly Bella has been emptying her bowl at mealtime, I think my dog is too!

Le Sickie

Poor Bella has been feeling like this. Mr. Sasha was calling her "Snots" and it turned out she had The Kennel Cough.

So of course meds were required, and I'm by nature a cat person and in my experience giving meds to cats is sort of like a greased pig contest- lots of  "Almost!". But not quite.

Have you tried to give a pill to a cat? They eat so damn daintily, that just when you think you've got it perfectly hidden in some sort of food and you're golden, you come back in the room to find they've eaten all the surrounding food and left you a tiny little present in their food bowl- the untouched pill.

But my vet told me about Greenies, the pill pocket that masquerades itself as a treat. Best invention ever. 9 pills down, 1 to go.

Disclosure: Note that I did pay for the dog and her meds and the weekend boarding that got her the damn Kennel Cough, as well as the Greenies. Got them at PetsMart.

Look who is getting fluffy

Bella when we got her at the end of November, 9 months old and shaved

Bella now, 1 year old next week, and fluffy

I *do* think her little face needs some trimming, don't you? Her beard gets awfully wet when she get a drink.

Meet Bella

Meet Bella, the 9 month old Havanese we got this weekend. She's full-grown at 10 pounds.

She's quite a sweetie, and really loving. And bonus- already potty trained!

I spent the weekend making sure The Wild Child didn't smother her with too much lovin'.
