I Can't Do It

I was pondering the premise of SJP's newest movie, I Don't Know How She Does It, and the answer is really easy.

She doesn't. Or at least, I don't.

I don't do it at. As a mom with a lot on her plate, I just can't.

I have friendships that have been neglected, baby books that haven't been filled, 25 pounds that haven't been lost, baseboards that haven't been re-stained after we re-floored the whole house, flower beds that haven't been tended to, pictures that haven't been uploaded or printed, books that haven't been read..... the list goes on and on.

What's the answer? How do I find that balance I am so desperately looking for? I'm not sure, but I'm mulling it over and hope to sort it out soon.

I can't do it all, and I'm a stay-at-home mom. There are always plenty of things left undone.

I'm slowly coming to more peace with that...with not having it ALL together.

I loved that movie! I don't do it all either, but I also don't try. I pick the important things and go gung-ho on those. And sometimes pay people to do things that I can't do- like the lawn or house-repairs. And if the guy I met with twice doesn't show up to do the screen door, I try not to stress, and in my quiet moments make a mental note to move on the person #2 to try to do it.

The movie was good to me because of the balance of making family first and husbands first, when work likes to claim first place. I hope to always keep that balance.

Yes, exactly! We don't do it all, but we make peace with the fact that we cannot do everything.

I want to go watch that movie!! In the hopes I'll learn something, lol! As you know, I def don't do it all... and lately, I think I'd say I'm doing the bare min. We're in survival mode, I think. ;) But I personally think YOU are amazing and always wonder how you do it all. And stay so nice. ;)
