Oh I loved every second of this book! Single dad Tuck and Maren, the new nanny for Tuck's darling 4 year old daughter, were so so good for each other! Grumpy/sunshine is always a favorite trope for me, and both characters were so well-written. To be honest, the 12 year age gap didn't even seem like much at all because of how mature the heroine Maren was- she was definitely wise beyond her years. I adored Tuck- he was such a fantastic father, provider and friend, and Maren seamlessly fit right in his little family. This book would read just fine as a standalone, but characters from the first book in the series are featured and if you haven't read it (I Wish I Knew Then), I recommend it as well! The setting for this series, Harbour Village, has such a wonderful small town atmosphere I totally would love to live there!

They say what happens at the lake, stays at the lake. But it’s not so easy to walk away when what stays behind…is your heart.

When I saw that two of my favorite narrators, Andi Arndt and Sebastian York, would be narrating Vi Keeland's What Happens at the Lake, I used an Audible credit for a pre-order and downloaded it as soon as I woke up and it was available! Grumpy/sunshine is a trope I always enjoy so it was no surprise that I loved this book so much! Josie and Fox were so good together! I loved how they met and began to spend time together. All the nosy small town characters were such a hoot! The narration by Arndt and York was fantastic as always.

I loved Ash and Bridget's story and Ash just surpassed his teammates to be my favorite! The meet cute was so swoony and I loved how Ash pursued Bridget while still being patient and willing to wait for her to be ready to date. And the nickname! It was so adorable when he called her "Bridge"! And now I am dying for an Everly and Jack story....... so hoping it is next in the series!

Author Meghan Quinn has a special brand of hilarity that I absolutely love- and Sherman the bonsai tree? So good! I loved every moment I spent listening to an early copy of the duet narration starring Erin Mallon and Connor Crais and included a full cast featuring Jason Clarke, Teddy Hamilton, JF Harding, and Kelsey Navarro. Their performances brought the story to life and it was perfection. I had been waiting (somewhat impatiently!) for Halsey's story and it was absolutely worth the wait. The quiet ones, am I right? He and Blakely together were fire and I enjoyed their story so much. It's so fun when Quinn leaves readers little Easter Eggs to discover, and there were some fun ones in here!

Oh my! I do think author Adriana Locke saved the best Carmichael brother for last! Foxx and Bianca's marriage of convenience story was so much more that just that- the attraction and respect they had for each other added a whole other layer to the romance and it was fun watching it all turn so real. I adore the whole Carmichael clan and their partners/significant others and loved the hilarity that ran through the whole series. From the random animal texts to the chickens and Damaris's couch, it was all SO GOOD! The suspense element fit in so well with Foxx's profession and I LOVE how the book ended.
