My review: 3 Stars

This was a quick "beach read" that I read in just a day. At first, I was really pulling for Kyle and Meg to get together. Meg was darling and I loved her recipes. But as things started happening with the legal battle, and Kyle behaved by basically supporting his family over Meg, I quickly changed my opinion of him. There was another detail revealed later related to Meg and Matt's relationship that also put Kyle in the "no" column for me. The wrap up at the end happened too fast and I'm not sure how Meg would ever get over Kyle's behavior. His character was just un-redeemable for me. Meg was much stronger than that and deserved better.

All Georgia could do was close her eyes and pray that Becca wouldn’t call out a greeting.

There was a pause before Georgia heard Becca say, “Right this way, please.”

Quietly, Georgia stepped into her office and shut the door. After flipping on the light, she let her briefcase and pocketbook slide right to the floor. Only the folder that Nate had given her was still in her shaking hands. She flipped it open, her eyes searching for the new player’s name on the page.

My Review: 5 Stars!

I was so excited to hear that Sarina Bowen was going to start a new series with a tie-in to her Ivy Years series, a series that I have devoured and LOVED each and every book (and audiobook!) from.

Although Leo Trevi was not a major character in any of her prior books, his brother DJ was, and we had been told a little of Leo and Georgia's back story in The Fifteenth Minute, book 5 of in the Ivy Years series. DJ actually talks to Georgia and gets some advice in this book.

But luckily, Leo and Georgia get their own book in Rookie Move. I have to tell you there is not one single thing to dislike about Leo Trevi. Not one, I swear! He is the perfect man, and it was actually circumstances that drove he and Georgia apart and once you read the story, you feel for him and can see why he has been pining away for her for years.

But I also saw why Georgia became the way she was, and how hard it was for her to get past the events from her past. I adored that Georgia was a strong, independent woman who had learned she could take care of herself.

The two of them together are amazingly hot- their chemistry is off the charts, and even though Leo was so desperate for Georgia, I loved how patient he was with her.

Second-chance and sports romances are two of my favorite tropes, and Rookie Move brought the two tropes together beautifully! I cannot wait to read the next book in this series- Hard Hitter, about team captain Patrick O'Doul, will be released January 3, 2017.

My review: Unlimited Stars- to infinity and beyond!

When I tell friends about this book, I tell them that, other than reading the blurb above, they need to go in blind. It's super important to the story. I do say that this book absolutely moved me in the most beautiful way and it will always be one of my favorite books. I also LOVE the music tie-in to the book and immediately downloaded the music from Griffin Peterson and it's AMAZING and so cool to listen to the songs as you read the story. In fact, I wish the audiobook mixed the book and music together- has anyone talked to CoHo and Griffin about this???? :-) If you aren't familiar with Colleen Hoover's work, Maybe Someday is a great place to start!

My review: 3.5 Stars

I'm a sucker for a small-town romance, so I jumped on the chance to read this. I loved that Kennedy left a cheating boyfriend behind to start fresh in a quaint town running an established pie show. I was instantly drawn to Luke- witty banter is my love language, so he was an instant like for me. I also liked that their romance was not insta-love, but some of the secrets Luke was keeping from Kennedy were off-putting for me. I found I was nearing the end of the book wondering if things would be wrapped up in time. Honesty is a big thing for me, so I had a hard time with that part of the story. I did like how the story ends and will be watching out for future books in the Destiny Bay series.

My review:

4 stars!

Rachel Lacey was a new author to me, but I am so glad I discovered her! While doing research for this review, I realized she release a prequel novella to Run With You called Rock With You (just 99 cents!) so as soon as I finish this post, I'll be dashing off to one-click Rock With You and dive into it!

Although this doesn't actually fall in the sports romance category, which is one of my favorite types, it does have an olympic swimmer in Ethan! I adored Ethan- he was super sweet, loyal, and caring. I loved his relationship with his childhood friends, Ryan and Mark, who were his partners in an extreme sports business called Off-the-Grid Adventures. Also special was Ethan's relationship with Dixie, his grandmother.

Gabby reminded me a bit of myself, so timid and a bit closed off. A work-from-home video game developer, she was taking some time to hide away in the small town to re-set her life after a bad relationship. The difference between Ethan and Gabby led to a really interesting pairing, and I enjoyed seeing them want more from each other as they pretended to be a couple for the benefit of Dixie, Ethan's ailing grandmother. Fake relationships are a trope I tend to enjoy, especially the journey of it turning into more. Run to You certainly fit the bill, and the small town characters also drew me in. It looks like this series will continue, with books focusing on Ryan and Mark. I'm looking forward to reading more from Rachel Lacey!
