Oh how I love the Harris family- even when they are giving a Harris Shakedown! Cousin Allie was a great addition to the family and I am so glad that the series isn't over after all. What a unique story Roan and Allie have- and their chemistry is off the charts. Above all, this story was about family, but also redemption and forgiveness and love. I am so looking forward to Mac and Freya's story next. Such an enjoyable series!

A different couple is featured in each book, and I was excited to get Leigh's story after meeting her in the first two books. It's a sweet small town second chance story, and Leigh and Gabe have fantastic, can't-stay-away-from-each-other chemistry. I also love the friendship of the girls in the series- their antics and banter are hilarious and they are definitely girls I would chose to be friends with. A great addition to the series!

“It’s been telling me that you and I are becoming friends,” I say, but my tone isn’t entirely friendly.

Her lips curve up. “Is that so? We’re friends?”

“It does feel that way,” she agrees softly. “Do you think we found that alternate universe you mentioned?”

I inch closer. “I’d like to spend a night in that alternate universe.”

She licks her lips. “Everything’s different there.”

“Nothing’s off-limits there.”

“Maybe that’s where we are.” The words come out a little husky, a lot sexy, and I know what’s changing.

The reminder of who she is, how we’re connected, isn’t keeping me away.

The barrier isn’t strong enough tonight.

No matter how much we talk.

I truly feel that Emma Scott books are best read blind, completely unspoiled. I read the blurb only and dive in. Her magic words unfold so beautifully. You know those books you love so much you wish you could go back and read for the first time again? A Five Minute Life is absolutely on that list for me. It's beautiful and heartbreaking, breathtaking and soul-wrenching, yet love and life-affirming. The journey is so worth it- this story will stay with me long after finishing. It's so unique, so powerful, and so very emotional. A must read!

Sara Ney's latest installment in her How To Date a Douchebag series, The Lying Hours, is fabulous and my only complaint was that I wish it was longer! A fantastically entertaining take on Cyrano de Bergerac, it's full of fun relatable  characters and hilarious dialog and banter. Abe made me swoon at "second-hand bookstore", and Skylar's introverted personality was so much like mine! The cameo from Zeke was a hoot and PERFECT. Skylar's roommate Hannah was a riot and I cannot wait to read her story in the next book in the series.
