Quaker® Chewy® Girl Scouts® Granola Bars

You know we're a Girl Scout family, right? And I'm Cookie Mom? And every January, our home gets turned into a cookie store? It's actually really fun, and a great learning experience for the kids. We really enjoy it. (And the kids love Thin Mints!)

So when BzzAgent offered me a spot in their Quaker Chewy Girl Scouts Granola Bars campaign, I jumped on the chance because I knew the kids would love trying them. We were lucky enough to get a box of the Thin Mint flavor to try.

My 12 year old son LOVES them! They will definitely bridge the gap for us until it's cookie time again in January! I've been including them in his lunches and they have also been a great snack for on the go times like traveling to cross country meets. Each bar has 100 calories and no high fructose corn syrup.

I asked my son to share his review, and he said "I love them, but I really wish there was a Tagalong flavor too!" Pssst.... Quaker. did you hear that?

LOTD #20 and BLUEBERRY!

Made with a double-dose of premium micronized pigments, this lip pencil delivers a modern matte look. This lip color delivers super antioxidant resveratrol, which fights free radicals with potent long-term antiaging benefits. Each lip pencil contains the amount of resveratrol found in five glasses of red wine.
Bite Beauty High Pigment Matte Pencil in Bramble ($24 at Sephora)

I love this pencil because it does not need a sharpener! You just twist from the bottom and the product rolls up. My lips were still a bit dry this morning, so I started with an application of Fresh Sugar Balm and them added the Bite pencil and it feels great. I think $24 is a bit expensive, but I was curious about the brand and the fact that they only make lip products. One thing to note is that although the word "matte" is in the name, it's actually pretty moisturizing and not all that matte.

Blueberries!

I seem to be a little obsessed with blueberries recently. Have you tried the Healthy Choice Greek Frozen Yogurt? It's so good! Blueberry is my favorite flavor and I've been indulging in these for an afternoon snack at work. At only 100 calories, it's not that much of an indulgence, although it tastes rich.

And did you know they make BLUEBERRY STARBURST?????? They are so so good! I found a pack labeled "Very Berry" at Walmart this weekend and bought it because I love all the flavors in the pack- Strawberry, Raspberry, Blackberry, and Blueberry. This is definitel my new favorite candy.

Cocoa Chex Mix

It's totally a sickness- when I start researching something I can't stop.....

And all I could find about the Cocoa Chex Mix was info about a special edition Winter Chex Mix Cocoa from a few years ago. This article isn't dated, but it was definitely talking about a different version because the contents aren't quite the same. I keep finding 2008 references in regards to this version.

From the article linked above: This mix included pretzels shaped like stockings, snowflakes, sleighs, snowmen and Christmas trees (moronically described on the bag as "holiday trees" so as not to offend); mini marshmallows, the kind they include with hot chocolate mix; vanilla bread sticks; Corn Chex; and Frosted Mini Chex. All of those things had a thin coating of a hot chocolate-like powder that adhered to everything quite well.

2010's version has (clockwise from left): mini marshmallows (cereal style), circle and square pretzels, a swirly cookie, a chex densely-coated with chocolate powder, and a sweetened almost-frosted chex.

It's quite yummy, and now we can get back to tasks at hand (Christmas shopping!) now that I've properly research, photographed, and reported my new find. (Since Chex Mix doesn't feel it necessary to put the product on their web page......)

Have You Seen?

New Chex Muddy Buddies! Absolutely yummy and premade!!!!!

Props to Chex Mix for having them on their website! (Although I was unable to find the other variety I purchased at the same time - hot chocolate or maybe hot cocoa - on there! I did find some info on other sites about a past limited edition Winter Chex Mix Hot Cocoa , but that's not what I purchased....)
