Studying Abroad Just Got a Whole Lot Sexier...

Hey girl... (1).png

One of my favorite romance series, the Study Abroad Series by Jessica Peterson, has some smexy new covers! You can start reading the series for FREE, no strings attached; book #1, SPANISH LESSONS, is now free on all platforms!

A note about the books: the STUDY ABROAD series is a series of interconnected standalone novels. While I think it’s fun to read the series in order, you can absolutely read each book as a standalone. You can find my reviews of all four books here. I LOVED them all!

Jessica is also hosting a GIVEAWAY Rafflecopter to celebrate the relaunch. She's giving away a $10 Amazon Gift Card, along with a STUDY ABROAD prize pack, which includes ebook copies of all four books in the series!

SPANISH LESSONS is now FREE on all platforms!

I have big plans for my semester abroad in Madrid...but falling for my super hot Spanish tutor definitely isn't one of them #HotForTeacher

Along with her BFF Maddie, Vivian hopes to indulge her inner Art History nerd by visiting the best museums in the world. She also wants to tackle more practical concerns—like a less than stellar GPA in her major, Economics—with the help of a Spanish tutor.

MadrileƱo Rafa Montoya is the stuff study abroad dreams are made of: super studly and super smart. He also happens to be super into Vivian. With his wicked dancing skills and his passion for the arts, he tempts her to throw caution to the wind and live out her wildest dreams.

Only problem? Maddie wants Rafa, too, and Vivian promised herself she’d never settle for second best again…not after a hookup-gone-awry last semester left her heartbroken. Is it best for Vivian to protect her heart at all costs? Or is letting Rafa in worth the risk?

Like hot Spaniards and hotter sex scenes? Start reading the STUDY ABROAD series for FREE today!

Jessica Peterson began reading romance to escape the decidedly unromantic awkwardness of her teenage years. Having found solace in the likes of Mr. Darcy, Jamie Fraser (OMG love the gingers!), and Edward Cullen, it wasn’t long before she began creating tall, dark and handsome heroes of her own.

She lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, Mr. Peterson, and her smelly Goldendoodle Martha Bean. You can find her on Facebook in her readers’ group, Peterson’s Pupils, on BookBub, and on Twitter.

Release Day Review: Lessons in Losing It by Jessica Peterson

My review: 5 Shirtless Shenanigans Stars!
Gah! Each installment of Jessica Peterson's Study Abroad series introduces me to yet another man I adore! And Fred is for sure my favorite- he's adorkable, endearing and such an all-around great guy who respects women and longs to find his perfect match to give himself to and settle down. Rachel only has a short time left in Madrid when they meet and I adored the friendship that developed between them before they stopped denying themselves each other- the moment when they gave in was so hot and their chemistry was just perfect.

This book was originally planned as a novella, and I was super excited when I heard it would be a full length novel. We were also treated to a fabulous epilogue that catches us up with all the girls and their guys. It was a perfect ending to a fabulous series.

A Study Abroad Novel
By Jessica Peterson

Release date: Friday, June 2, 2017

Just friends…
That’s all soccer star Fred Ohr wants to be with Rachel Collins, the American student he meets at party in his adopted hometown of Madrid.  He’s looking for the real deal—someone who’ll stick around Spain for more than a semester—so he resolves to keep her at arm’s length.  Even if she is sexy as hell.  Smart.  And as crazy about sports as he is.
But friends don’t kiss.  They don’t do sleepovers.  And they definitely don’t get rug burn from having the best sex ever on the living room carpet.
Fred and Rachel’s connection is instant.  Intense.  He loves to cook breakfast for her.  She loves it when he cooks wearing nothing but his glasses.
Only Rachel’s got a dream internship waiting for her back in the states.  And Fred is lining up a contract worth millions to stay in Madrid.  They’re playing with fire to keep seeing each other like this.  But how can they resist when the sex is so great—really, really freaking great—and the fun they have together is even better?

LESSONS IN LOSING IT is a full length, friends-to-lovers standalone romance that releases on June 2, 2017.

Release Day Review: Lessons in Letting Go by Jessica Peterson

LESSONS IN LETTING GO
(Study Abroad #3)
by Jessica Peterson
Release date: December 12, 2016

“Ten minutes ago, I was just an American student studying abroad in Spain.  But now?  Now I’m a professional soccer player’s muse.  His good luck charm...”

Soccer star Rhys Maddox’s recovery from an injury isn’t going well—until one night with a beautiful American and a few terrible pick-up lines changes everything.  With Laura at his side, he plays smarter, runs faster, and fights harder than he ever has on the pitch.  She’s just the good luck charm he needs to turn his flailing career around.

Laura Bennet begins her semester in Madrid with plans to ditch bad habits and worse boyfriends. But when she unexpectedly gets caught up in Rhys's A-list life, her plans are put on hold.  Who wouldn’t skip class to fly on a private jet with a studly Welsh footballer?  It’s a no brainer, or so she thinks.  Turns out Rhys’s glamorous lifestyle hides an obsession with appearances—an obsession that makes her totally miserable. Determined to take back her happiness, Laura decides to dump Rhys and tackle a “Spain Bucket List” on her own.

But Rhys isn’t letting his good luck charm go without a fight. He’s spent his entire life trying to earn his way into the big leagues, and he’ll do anything to win—even risk his carefully crafted image to help Laura with her bucket list. Will he be able to let go of his ego? Or will he and Laura ultimately let go of each other?

My review: 5 stars!
Again with the 5 stars! I gave the same rating to the first two books in the series, and although is book was totally different, I still loved it! I love that the title refers to both main characters- Rhys, the hot footballer, and Laura, the American student studying abroad- and the journeys they are both traveling in finding themselves. It was great to get to know Laura, who we met in the first two books, on a deeper lever. Honestly, I wasn't a big fan of Laura's at the start, but after this book I really really like her. And I absolutely LOVE Rhys and Laura together. Rhys was a bit of a self-involved jerk at the beginning of the story, but as we learn about his past and how he got to that point, it makes a bit more sense. I am looking forward to the upcoming novella (Study Abroad #3.5) that will close out this series- I can't wait to read about more Fred and Rachel.

Jessica also posted the first three chapters on her website so everyone can read!

Review: Lessons in Gravity by Jessica Peterson

Earlier this week I reviewed Spanish Lessons, Book 1 in the Study Abroad series by Jessica Peterson. If you didn't see that review, spoiler alert! It's amazing and FREE on Amazon!

So I couldn't wait to dive into Book 2, Lessons in Gravity! Thankfully, we were on a very long road trip and the timing was perfect for me to read, read read!

Here's a summary from Amazon:

MADDIE LUCAS IS ONLY LOOKING FOR A ONE NIGHT STAND... While studying in Spain for her semester abroad, Maddie hopes to escape the drama surrounding her parents’ divorce—a divorce she may or may not have caused—while researching Spanish architecture for her thesis. And if she hooks up with hot MadrileƱos along the way? All the better. BUT HANDSOME SPANIARD JAVIER MONTOYA WANTS SO MUCH MORE. Guitarist Javier is ready to set aside his rock star ways and settle down for good with his gorgeous ex-girlfriend. But after a one night stand with sexy, passionate Maddie blossoms into genuine friendship, he begins to wonder if Maddie might be the forever girl he’s looking for. Too bad Maddie believes forever is more fiction than fairy tale. Can Javier prove to her that fairy tales exist? Or is Maddie right to think she doesn’t deserve happily ever after?

My review: 5 stars!
Jessica Peterson did it again! Just like the first book in the series, Lessons in Gravity is hot hot hot! We met Maddie in Spanish Lessons- she was Viv's best friend and had a crush on Rafa. And at the end of the book Maddie meets Rafa's uncle Javier, who isn't quite as old as the girls imagined he would be.

Javier is pretty much another dream guy, just like Rafa. Swoon! Although Maddie has the perfect guy in front of her (gorgeous, kind, funny, and a musician!), she's at a point in her life where she doesn't believe a man can make her happy. Poor Javi tries to show Maddie he can, but misunderstandings and terrible timing cause some problems for them. A background story in the book is about Maddie's upcoming thesis for her architecture degree. Peterson weaves some beautiful descriptions of historical art locations in Madrid that made me feel as though I was seeing the beautiful spots in person.

It looks like Book 3 will be Viv and Maddie's friend Laura's story. I am so anxious to read about Laura's romance with athlete Rhys!

Review: Spanish Lessons by Jessica Peterson

Last week I got an email from author Jessica Peterson asking if I'd like to review her book Lessons in Gravity, which is the second book in her Study Abroad series. After checking it out on Amazon, I was very interested, and noticed that book 1 in the series, Spanish Lessons, was free! I downloaded it and dove in right away.

If you haven't read Spanish Lessons, you MUST! Here's a summary from Amazon:

Vivian Bingley has big plans for her semester abroad in Spain…

Along with her BFF Maddie, Vivian hopes to indulge her inner Art History nerd by visiting the best museums in the world. She also wants to tackle more practical concerns—like a less than stellar GPA in her major, Economics—with the help of a Spanish tutor.

But falling for her studly Spanish tutor definitely isn’t one of them.

My review: 5 stars!
Hot hot hot! This book drew me in immediately and I devoured it in just one day. I never studied abroad myself, but after reading this, I wish I had taken the chance and done something like that! Even if I didn't get to meet a guy as swoony as Rafa, what an amazing adventure!

And Rafa is a dreamy book boyfriend.... not only gorgeous, he's kind, caring, loving, and a damn fine dancer! If you enjoy a bit of angst, you'll find some in here as Vivian fights her feelings because of her best friend's crush on Rafa. I found the details on Spanish culture and language so interesting and I was so ready to read the next book in the series. Stay tuned for my review of book 2!
