As a long-time romance reader, the premise of Jillian Dodd's Kitty Valentine series excited me so much! I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every installment. While making readers laugh out loud and swoon, often at the same time, Dodd take readers through Kitty's process of writing a romance novel, beginning with agent and editor meetings, through exploration of various tropes, while introducing and developing great characters like Kitty's best friend, grandmother, and gorgeous neighbor Matt. What a delight this series has been! Santa was such a fantastic installment- I loved seeing Kitty get her own HEA!

New Release Review: Kitty Valentine Dates a Hockey Player by Jillian Dodd

 

My review: 5 stars!

As we near the end of the Kitty Valentine series, it's all coming together! We get SO MUCH in this installment- an HEA for Kitty's grandmother, best friend Hayley's has found someone too, and in this books neighbor Matt starts by helping Kitty meet a hockey player for her latest trope, and ends by....... no spoilers here! Sports romance is my most favorite trope and it was so fun watching Kitty's adventures as one of the WAGs. Of course, I think all readers are pulling for a Matt and Kitty pairing by now, and the end of this installment gets us closer to the final book of the series, where Kitty dates a Santa. Will Matt be our Santa? So excited to find out!

Being from Oklahoma, I was pretty excited for Kitty to spin the wheel and date a cowboy- a type of hero I am very familiar with! I felt like Paxton was a Ewing from the TV show Dallas and couldn't get enough of him. He and Kitty got hot and heavy pretty fast, but I'll admit to being worried for her. I had a feeling a big secret would be revealed. The situation with neighbor Matt had some developments..... and I'm still rooting for him! Looking forward to reading about Kitty's next hero, a hockey player, and then we get the last book in the series and hopefully a HEA for Kitty- Santa!

My review for Actor: 5 stars!

I loved this installment of Kitty Valentine! Dating an actor was such a great premise and it was fun to see Kitty use her social media in her efforts to meet someone. Rafe was pretty darn swoon-worthy. Best friend Hayley had a bit of her own storyline, and I enjoyed getting more of neighbor Matt and his adorable dog Phoebe. Grandmother is definitely one of my favorite characters and I love how she tells it like it is to Kitty. This is such a fun series and after each installment, I am ready to dive into the next one!

My review for Best Man: 5 stars!

The Kitty Valentine series is SO fun! In this installment, author Jillian Dodd took us out of NYC and to a fancy resort for a destination wedding and set the dating target on the best man. Although Briggs doesn't make a great first impression, it was fun to see he and Kitty bond and the sweet things he did for her. With each new book, I get a bit more invested in Kitty and seeing her get her Happily After After. I have to admit that when a certain twist was revealed, I was surprised! Looking forward to reading more of Kitty's adventures and still rooting for neighbor Matt!

Sitting in my room, cross-legged on the bed, staring longingly at Dustin’s face. Not only his either—Kevin, Benji, and Tyler were just as cute, but they didn’t have that special factor. The elusive charm. The hours I spent listening to their music while doing homework, practicing with makeup, cuddling my teddy bear—and yes, pretending it was my favorite band member—were endless. But I didn’t make out with it the way my server made out with her poster. I had standards, even at a young age. Maybe a little too well. My review: 5 stars! I am still loving Kitty! After reading the first two books in the series where Kitty dated a billionaire and a doctor, I have been so excited to read about her next adventure. This premise is so fun! I absolutely adore Kitty's personality- she's quirky and awkward and it's so fun to follow her as she attempts to expand her romance writing repertoire. We got to see more of her neighbor Matt (I love that they are having their dinners delivered and eating together!) I love that Jillian Dodd is giving us a peek into the world of a writer. Looking forward to Kitty dating a fireman next!

I am so excited about this new series from one of my favorite authors- the premise is so fun! Kitty Valentine Dates a Billionaire is the first offering in the series and I absolutely adored Kitty's personality- she's quirky and awkward and it's so fun to follow her as she attempts to expand her romance writing repertoire. I loved seeing her budding friendship with neighbor Matt and getting to know her best friend Hayley too. It was so interesting to get a peek into the world of a writer- meetings with her agent and editor and getting to read Kitty's new book as she writes it. I cannot wait for Kitty's next adventure!
