New Release Review: Announcing Trouble by Amy Fellner Dominy

Announcing Trouble
by Amy Fellner Dominy

Publication Date: August 5, 2019

Publisher: Entangled Teen Crush

I may know everything there is to know about baseball, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Or like him. Garrett Reeves: sidelined player and the embodiment of everything I’ve learned to hate about baseball. He’s gorgeous, he’s cocky, he’s laser-focused on getting back in the game, no matter the cost.

When he convinces me to call games alongside him, our chemistry heats up the booth. We’re good together, whether I want to admit it or not. I’m finding that I like baseball again, but even worse, I’m liking Garrett. A lot.

But when he has to decide between our future and a new shot at his dreams, I know baseball will win out every time.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book has tons of hilarious banter, lots of sexual tension, and a hero who will throw a wild pitch right at your heart.

Yay for YA baseball goodness! Announcing Trouble had everything I love about YA- smart relatable characters (I loved both main characters!), witty banter, and fun chemistry. Amy Fellner Dominy certainly knows her baseball and I appreciated her attention to detail, and learned so much about announcing games too. This one was hit out of the park!

Blog Tour: The Heartbreak Cure by Amanda Ashley

Publication Date: December 4, 2017
Publisher: Entangled Teen: Crush

How to get over a heartbreak:

Step one: Eat your body weight in brownies.

Step two: Throw yourself into your dreams of becoming a famous writer.

Step three: Beg your (hottie) ex-neighbor to act as your fake boyfriend.

Step four: Skip step three unless you’re ready for some serious fallout.

After being dumped and humiliated over the summer, Cat Turner does what any sane girl would do. She asks bad boy Alex Locke to be her fake boyfriend and show the world (and her editor at the school newspaper) that she’s fine. Problem is, the more time she spends with Alex, the more she risks getting her heart broken. For real this time.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains a swoony bad boy who will melt your heart, brownies, and witty banter. One, two, or all three might prove addictive…

Link to Goodreads:

My review: 4 stars
Friends-to-lovers is always one of my favorite tropes, and The Heartbreak Cure combines it with a fun fauxmance for a really sweet enjoyable YA story. I loved Alex- poor guy, his childhood is really tragic and I wanted to reach in the book and give him a big hug. Cat is a great character- someone I'd want to be friends with. I enjoyed the side characters too, in particular Cat's mom and Alex's boss Joe and his grandmother Birdie. Lots of witty dialog and swoony moments- a great read!

Blog Tour: A Messy, Beautiful Life By Sara Jade Alan

by Sara Jade Alan
Publication Date: October 2, 2017

Publisher: Entangled Teen
Life is funny sometimes.

And not always the ha, ha kind. Like that one time where a hot guy tried to kiss me and I fell. Down. Hard. And then found out I had cancer.

I’m trying to be strong for my friends and my mom.

And I’m trying so hard to be “just friends” with that hot guy, even though he seems to want so much more. But I won’t do that to him. He’s been through this before with his family, and I’m not going to let him watch me die.

So, I tell myself: Smile Ellie. Be funny Ellie. Don’t cry Ellie, because once I start, I might not stop.

My review: 4.5 stars!
Oh my goodness- this book was so full of feels! Alan was absolutely masterful at bringing comedy into an automatically angsty situation. It was charming and had perfect dialog. What an amazing friend group she created for Ellie- all believable, honest characters. A must read!

Blog Tour and Review: Falling for Forever by Melissa Chambers

Falling for Forever
Before Forever #2
by Melissa Chambers

Publication Date:  July 3, 2017
Publisher:  Entangled Teen

The second Jenna Quigley turns eighteen, she’s headed to L.A. to extend the timer on her fifteen minutes of fame. Too bad her dad made her promise to graduate high school first. Silver lining? Her new school has a serious talent competition with a $25,000 cash prize, which would go a long way in L.A. Jenna’s got plenty of talent—she didn’t almost win America’s Newest Sensation for nothing. But it’ll take everything she’s got to bring down the music nerd with a stick up his butt…no matter how cute he is in those glasses.

Miles Cleveland needs to win that talent contest. When some hot girl stole his audition spot on America’s Newest Sensation, his chance to study music flounced off to New York with her. Now, not only can he win enough money to pay for his education, he can get revenge on that very same girl. He can’t start to question his plan, though…no matter how deep Jenna buries into his heart.

Link to Goodreads:

My review: 4 Stars!
I read Falling for Forever immediately after reading the first book in this series, The Summer Before Forever, and I liked Falling for Forever even more! (Note that Falling for Forever can read just fine as a standalone.) Jenna was introduced in the first book, and I was not a fan of hers at all- she was so full of herself! But I do love a series that can change my mind about a character, and Chambers definitely did that with this book. I loved the premise of this story and loved that there was a talent competition in the plot- I have no musical talent AT ALL myself but love reading about singers and musicians. Jenna and Miles had great chemistry and I enjoyed the believable banter between them. Overall a great read!

New Release Review: The Perfectly Imperfect Match by Kendra C. Highley

by Kendra C. Highley

Publication Date:  July 10, 2017
Publisher:  Entangled Teen Crush

Pitcher Dylan Dennings has his future all mapped out: make the minors straight out of high school, work his way up the farm system, and get called up to the majors by the time he’s twenty-three. The Plan has been his sole focus for years, and if making his dreams come true means instituting a strict “no girls” policy, so be it.

Lucy Foster, needlepoint ninja, big sister to an aspiring pitcher, and chicken advocate, likes a little mayhem. So what if she gets lost taking her brother to baseball camp…at her own high school? The pitching coach, some hotshot high school player, obviously thinks she’s a hot mess. Too bad he’s cute, because he’s so not her type.

Problem is, they keep running into each other, and every interaction sparks hotter than the last. But with Dylan’s future on the line, he has to decide whether some rules are made to be broken…

Disclaimer: This book contains a crazy night of moonlit skinny-dipping, a combustible crush, and kisses swoony enough to unwind even the most Type A athlete.

My review: 4.5 Perfect Game Stars
I was so excited to see that Kendra C. Highley was releasing another book in her Suttonville Sentinels series! Although I love all sports romance, baseball is my very favorite sport. Dylan and Lucy were both great characters, and I loved the banter between them as they got to know each other and tried to deny the chemistry between them. This book was super cute and fun!
