Review: Almost Midnight (Two Festive Short Stories) by Rainbow Rowell

Almost Midnight
(Two Festive Short Stories)
by Rainbow Rowell
Available in Hardcover from Book Depository for $8.20

Midnights is the story of Noel and Mags, who meet at the same New Year's Eve party every year and fall a little more in love each time . . .

Kindred Spirits is about Elena, who decides to queue to see the new Star Wars movie and meets Gabe, a fellow fan.

Midnights was previously published as part of the My True Love Gave to Me anthology, edited by Stephanie Perkins and Kindred Spirits was previously published as a World Book Day title.

My review: 5 sparkly stars!
I adore Rainbow Rowell and I adore short stories. Sometimes my ADD brain needs a quick fun read and both of these fit the bill. I previously read Midnights when it was included in an anthology, and I LOVED it! It was quirky and unique. I purchased a paperback Kindred Spirits and had it sent from the UK and devoured it sitting in the car while my son was at soccer practice. Elena was adorable and this story was just plain fun. If you are a Rainbow Rowell fan, these are a must read. If you are new to Rainbow Rowell, I'd suggest starting with Fangirl, my absolute favorite.
