This is definitely a feeling cute,
might want to delete later situation. But isn’t every message sent at two in
the morning a precursor to regret?
By the way, I hope you read that
subject line as the pun it was intended to be.
Okay, cutting to the chase—neither of
us has an interest in cultivating an emotional connection with each other,
right? You have your reasons, and I have mine. But none of that keeps us from
nearly crossing the line from professional to personal every freaking day.
I mean, what was that almost kiss in
the hallway this afternoon?
Something has to give. So this is me,
giving in.
I can’t believe I’m suggesting this,
but what if you and I had … a fling?
Just a short-lived non-romance. No
pretending it will ever be more. We’ll avoid flowers and flirting and get to
the f—you know what I mean.
That’s all either of us wants
anyway.
Think about it. Let me know.
I’ll see you in the office in the
morning.
Oh! One more thing—If you’re not into
this, don’t ever mention you saw this email. I’ll pretend I never saw it
either.
Okay. Bye.
About the
Author:
USA Today and Washington Post bestselling author Adriana
Locke lives and breathes books. After years of slightly obsessive relationships
with the flawed bad boys created by other authors, Adriana has created her own.
She resides in the Midwest with her husband, sons, and two
dogs. She spends a large amount of time playing with her kids, drinking coffee,
and cooking. You can find her outside if the weather's nice and there's always
a piece of candy in her pocket.
The first time I met Merrick Crawford was during my job interview.
Well, technically, I’d met him twenty minutes earlier when he’d barged into a fitting room a few doors down from my appointment.
I yelled. He yelled. After an argument while standing in my bra, I proceeded to smash the door into the gorgeous jerk, trying to yank it shut.
As you might imagine, I was freaked out when I discovered that the rude guy was my potential new boss.
Yet he didn’t seem to recognize me. Or so I thought… Until we wound up bickering again during my interview and he told me to go sniff my armpit.
Okay, so maybe I hadn’t exactly been changing when he walked in on me. In my defense, I’d been stuck on a hot train for two hours and wanted to make sure I didn’t smell.
I obviously didn’t expect to get the job. But somehow an invitation to a second interview arrived in my inbox.
Before I left, I asked to see Merrick. I needed to know why I was even in consideration after our disastrous start.
Turned out, Merrick only wanted to hire me because I was the least competent candidate. It seemed his board was making him fill the position, against his wishes.
I didn’t really want to work in a place where my boss expected me to fail. But I figured maybe I’d enjoy proving him wrong. It was a little thing I dubbed the boss project.
What I wasn’t prepared for was that there would be other things I’d enjoy doing to Merrick Crawford.
Getting involved with the boss wasn’t the smartest choice.
But you know what they say about choices: Some we regret, some we are proud of. I just had no idea where this one was going to land.

Kandi Steiner has revealed the cover for Blind Side!
Releasing: June 15, 2022
Cover Designer: Kandi Steiner
Photographer: Ren Saliba
Blind Side is a fake dating sports romance that early readers are calling Kandi's spiciest book yet! Add in that the heroine is a virgin and takes "lessons" from our star athlete Hero on how to please herself, and this is one hot summer release you won't want to miss! 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲. Clay Johnson has the abs of Adonis and the deadly smirk of the devil, himself. There's hardly a day he's not headline material during football season, and never a day he isn't a bullseye target for every girl on campus. He used to be the easiest of all the players for me to wrangle as the Public Relations Coordinator, but after a nasty breakup with his high school sweetheart, he's a mess. And a complete pain in my ass. We meet to discuss his behavior and review media relations standards. But when he witnesses how I fall to pieces in front of my guitar-toting crush, his wheels start turning. And he cooks up this absurd plan. He helps me get noticed. I help him make his ex jealous. All by pretending to be in a relationship. What he doesn't realize is that this bookworm is a virgin, and far from versed in seducing a musician. So, to sweeten the deal, I convince him to help me -- not just to get my crush's attention, but to knock his socks off once I have it. But the more I come unraveled at the hands of Clay Johnson, the more trouble I have discerning what's fake and what's undoubtedly real — particularly, the way my heart flutters every time that breathtaking man touches me. We set the rules. We put the safeguards in place. But they say rules are meant to be broken. They probably should have added that hearts are, too.
Kandi Steiner is an Amazon Top 5 bestselling author and whiskey connoisseur living in Tampa, FL. Best known for writing "emotional rollercoaster" stories, she loves bringing flawed characters to life and writing about real, raw romance — in all its forms. No two Kandi Steiner books are the same, and if you're a lover of angsty, emotional, and inspirational reads, she's your gal.
An alumna of the University of Central Florida, Kandi graduated with a double major in Creative Writing and Advertising/PR with a minor in Women's Studies. She started writing back in the 4th grade after reading the first Harry Potter installment. In 6th grade, she wrote and edited her own newspaper and distributed to her classmates. Eventually, the principal caught on and the newspaper was quickly halted, though Kandi tried fighting for her "freedom of press."
She took particular interest in writing romance after college, as she has always been a die hard hopeless romantic, and likes to highlight all the challenges of love as well as the triumphs.
When Kandi isn't writing, you can find her reading books of all kinds, planning her next adventure, or pole dancing (yes, you read that right). She enjoys live music, traveling, playing with her fur babies and soaking up the sweetness of life.
Nobody does quirky witty banter quite like Lauren Blakely, and I loved the connection between TJ and Jude. Their meet-cute was perfect and I enjoyed them getting to know each other and seeing their attraction and relationship grow. Looking forward to the second book of the duet to read the ending to their story.
I had read a few of D.J. Palmer's novels and enjoyed them, so I listened to the audiobook for My Wife is Missing via my local library. I enjoyed the twists, turns, and uncertainty quite a bit. Chapters alternate with past and present events, and it was quite a ride. The ending took me by surprise, which is always fun.

The Homewreckers was a fun read and I especially enjoyed the reality TV show setting. I was immediately sucked into the mystery of the beach house and didn't mind that the romance storyline was quite slow. I enjoyed the friendship between heroine Hattie and her best friend Cass, and Cass's mom was a hoot.
Jo and Heath were absolutely delightful and it was fun to re-visit Lauren Blakely's world of fantastic characters, as it always is. Their one-night-stand turned forever romance was fresh and believable. I listened to the audiobook (included for free with my Audible membership) and Julia Whelan and Shane East gave great performances. East's British accent makes me positively swoon.
4.5 stars Secret baby books are not usually my jam because drama stresses me out.... but The Mrs. Degree was refreshingly low-drama! Our hero Jack was patient and kind with heroine Penelope even after the big secret reveal. I LOVED Jack and Harper getting to know each other- she was such a hoot! I enjoyed the story so much and was so excited once I realized the happy flow was going to continue and there wasn't going to be any dramatic misunderstanding or anything else threatening their chance at a happy family. This was just such an enjoyable read.

Growing up, Elizabeth's favorite pastime was reading. She could never walk through a bookstore without picking up a new book. With the advent of social media, she was able to reach out to an author and tell her how much she enjoyed her book. This simple interaction developed a friendship that changed her life.
She was brought into the world of writing and editing and knew she had found her happy place. After years of helping new authors achieve their publishing dreams, she knew it was time to take the leap and follow her own dreams.
Finding light in the darkness is a concept she likes to play with in her writing. Her debut novel imagines what it would be like if you had a chance to be with the loved ones you miss the most.
Elizabeth loves coffee, sarcasm and making people laugh. She is happily married and enjoys traveling with her family. She lives in Maryland with her husband, two children, and two dogs.
