I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.

The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend—a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.

Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.

Damn the company.

Damn our friendship.

Damn my fears.

My review: 5+ Scorching Stars!
Love In Lingerie was AMAZING! Dual POV is my favorite type of story to read, and a slow-burn friends-to-lovers book will always rise to the top of my TBR. And once I started this one, I could not put it down. It's amazing how my insomnia comes back full force when I am in the middle of a good book! Maybe it's not insomnia, huh? And bonus: I FINALLY know how to spell lingerie. Ha!

Trey and Kate's relationship had many things: a strictly-business relationship that progressed to a best-friendship, but also SO MUCH CHEMISTRY and ROMANTIC TENSION! Over something like 4 years! That's what kept me reading.... wondering, when are these two going to get past their secrets and angst????? The writing was just effortless- Alessandra can write a believable story and make it funny, serious, and sexy all at the same time. Love love love this book!

Release Day: Egomaniac by Vi Keeland

  egomaniac-available-now
  Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00072]
by Vi Keeland
Release Day: January 16, 2017

The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office.
I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills.
He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.
Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.
Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn't really available for rent.
I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he'd let me stay until I found a new place.
I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn't help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages.
The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.
And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

Goodreads

Four lives. Four stories. Four sets of letters. Four brave souls in need of guidance while facing life's greatest challenges.

The anonymously published Dear Life program is designed to help them step outside of their comfort zones, face their obstacles, and relinquish their demons...and prove their existence.

With their lives teetering between wanting more and losing it all, all four souls dive into the program as a New Year’s resolution, sending them on a crazy, life-altering journey.

Dear Life,

Please be kind.

Yours truly, Hollyn, Jace, Daisy, and Carter.

About the Author:

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if "It's Raining Men" starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing... enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

An emotional second chance love story.

Nick Walker found his one and only when he was just nineteen.

Found her.
Loved her.
Lost her.

It's been ten years since Nick watched Mia walk out of his life. Ten years of pain and regret. Now this FBI special agent will do anything to win her back.

But it won’t be easy…

Mia’s heart was shattered by Nick. They'll have to face their painful past if they want a future, including Mia's own secret about that day it all fell apart.

"WORTH THE WAIT is a gut wrenching, second chance love story that will bring tears to your eyes and a smile to your face." — JB SALSBURY, NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR

My review: 4 stars!
What an emotional read! Claudia Conner is a new author for me, so I hadn't read the series that this book is spun off from (The McKinneys). Although Worth the Wait can definitely read as a standalone, I think I might have a better understanding about some of the character history that might have helped fill in some holes for me. That being said, I absolutely tore through this book and loved every minute of it- every tear I shed (I definitely shed some tears!), every time I smiled, every angsty minute!

Release Day Review: Why Not? (Love Riddles #3) by Carey Heywood

Title: Why Not?
Series: Love Riddles #3
Author: Carey Heywood
Release Date: Jan 10, 2017
Add to your TBR
He doesn't love me.
Our relationship wasn't supposed to have strings.

Now he's almost all I think about.

He changed everything.

I'm not ready to tell him.
There's a chance he'll blame me when I do.

I don't know if I can trust him but I'm afraid to face the future alone.

Will he ever love me, or will he always love me not?

My review: 4.5 stars!
Although I am really sad to see this series end, I thought this book was a perfect ending. I was really intrigued by Trent when he was introduced in the second book in the series, Why Lie?, so I was excited to get to read his story. Although I didn't think he was a good match for Sydney, I knew he would make a good match for someone in Ferncliff. I hoped his story would be with Reilly because I really wanted to get to know her better, so I was excited to see my wish come true. As always, Carey did an excellent job creating an insanely hot amount of chemistry between the two main characters. I absolutely tore through this book, enjoying the banter between the characters, and loved the epilogue! It was so nice to see characters from the first two books and see them all get their own happily-ever-after.

Before I can stop myself, I reach up and trace his lips with my finger.

Neither of us speaks. We both just stand there and stare at each other.

The next second I’m in his arms, and his lips are on mine. His hands are in my hair and mine are up the back of his shirt.

This isn’t a kiss, it’s a wild fire.

I’m engulfed by it, the heat of his lips against mine, and the flame’s lick of his tongue.

I’ve dreamt of this kiss since I was fifteen years old. Even my wildest dreams did not touch the passion of this one. When his mom moved away not long after he left town for college, I was sure this kiss would never happen.

I’m not the type to pine over a boy I didn’t think I’d ever see again. I got over my crush on him. As much as I love her, I had no desire sit at home each night like Kacey did mooning over Jake. I’ve had other crushes; I’ve dated and even had a few relationships.

That does not mean I ever forgot about Trip Lowell. Seeing him again after all of these years has brought all of those memories to the forefront. This kiss is over ten years in the making.

As fast as our kiss began, it ends. I’m left suddenly cold, the fire extinguished by his retreat. He’s not gone, but he’s moved backward at least three feet.

“I’m sorry,” he murmurs, lifting his hands the same way he did earlier after he startled me.

“What?” I breathe.

“You’re upset. You were crying. I didn’t mean to take advantage of that.”

My brow furrows. “You’re not.”

I take one step toward him and then another. My feet move until he’s right in front of me.

Sliding my hands up his chest, I ask, “Are you against me taking advantage of you?”

It doesn’t take him long to decide. He bends, his hands on my ass, lifting me. My legs circle his waist as I grab onto his shoulders.

His mouth plunders mine. I’m not only along for the ride, oh no, this may be my one and only opportunity to experience him.

My hands roam.

My tongue tangles with his.

My hips push forward against his very apparent hardness.

He carries me across the yard, his step sure without even looking. I’m so distracted I don’t realize where we’ve moved to until he sets my ass down on a picnic table.

He breaks our kiss to ask one final question. “You sure about this?”

I nod, my hands already at work unfastening his jeans.

“Say it,” he commands, and I oblige.

“Yes, I’m sure.”

I didn’t want this life.

But sometimes you’re forced to make the best of the crappy hand you’ve been dealt. I wanted to teach my daughter that. No matter what happens you face your problems head-on.

Never cower. Never give up.

Then someone took her and I had to put my faith in a system that had failed me, and my hope in a man I didn’t know.

Serve. Honor. Protect, are the only things I’ve ever cared about until her case was dropped on my desk. As we searched for her missing daughter, the last woman I thought I’d fall in love with became my reason for living.

Then the world came crashing down around us.

One secret would change everything, but I had one more hand to be dealt. And if I played my cards right, maybe, just maybe we’d get our piece of heaven.

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...
