I had a $25 Amazon gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket, so when someone on the bargain board posted a link to the Led Zeppelin's Complete Studio Recordings for only $67.99 (don't forget about Free Super Saver Shipping!) I had to order. I have quite a few Zepp CDs, but these have been remastered by Jimmy Page and are supposed to have a fabulous sound. I'm not sure my minivan sound system can convey that correctly, but I think I'll give it a shot.
Oh how I love Zeppelin. I have all of these fabulous memories of the high school days when I was discovering them. Certain songs bring back specific memories. I'm 99% sure I was born 10 years too late.....
One of my biggest goals as a parent is to instill a love of music in my kids. I want to expose them to all the fabulous music my parents exposed me to- The Eagles, Zepp, Cream, and Eric Clapton. I want them to listen to the fabulousness that is the 17 minute In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. I remember Mamalicious's mom driving us around in her car so we could hear the whole thing for the first time, probably when we were 13.
So really, I'm buying this for The Politician and The Wild Child. And because I'm a cool mom.

7 say what?:
you are a cool mom! Music is one thing I don't know a whole lot about :(
PS- your umbrella went to the monogrammers today!
You're too funny.
I have the whole Zeppelin box collection that they put out a few years ago.
That's right you are!!
Kiddie music is strictly banned in my house. There will be no singing about a cow on your head.
What there will be are songs about Leroy Brown and how bad he is.
I love it Sasha! PrettyGirl was dancing to In A Gadda Da Vida on Saturday. I am totally serious!
I discovered LZ when I was a junior in high school (probably same as you). I remember listening to IV over and over and..
Ooooh. I have the old box set from a few years back, but that looks NICE.
Mimi rocks. We like to listen to hip hop and rap (Tupac) in the Hummer now.
We still like our Zepplin, though.
My childrens will be exposed to rock, rap, and grunge! I love it!

Damn you woman! Must. Buy. Zeppelin. Box. Set. Maybe I can talk Mr Kate into it for Christmas for me?? My kids are 3rd generation Beatles, Zepp, Jimi, Skynyrd, Janis, Carole King, etc etc etc fans. I used to love when Kell asked me to play the AHHHHHH AH song (Immigrant Song).
PS - thanks for the comment on my post the other day - that was a toughie to write!
